First Annual

Young Adult Snow Camp

WHAT: Winter months can be long without much to look forward to after the holidays. You know those people you have connected with through Mennonite/Annabaptist circles who you wish you could connect with more intentionally? Why not organize with these friends to spend a week or a few days with them at a wilderness camp setting where you could work remotely if you needed to and/or just hang out with them? Now you have something to look forward to!

 

WHEN: Drop in any time between February 24-March 5th. Stay for as little or as long as it works for you!

 

OPTIONAL ACTIVITIES:

  • Tubing, snow shoeing, cross country skiing on site

  • Alpine skiing & snowboarding at Steven’s Pass or at Mission Ridge

  • Excursions into Leavenworth, a picturesque Bavarian style village

  • Work remotely using our fiber internet connection 

  • Immerse yourself in one of Grunwald Guild’s art studios

  • Board games, card games, Ping-Pong

  • Collaborative cooking & baking

  • Contemplative Worship

  • Guided Yoga

FEES: Suggested minimum donation of $20 per day ($15 for lodging and $5 for food). Optional off-site activities such as equipment rental, park passes, and outings to local attractions will be paid separately. Scholarship funding is available if finances are a concern - for more information, contact Brisa Peacock at program@camrec.org

 

Transportation:

  • Carpool

  • Take a Greyhound Bus or a Wenatchee Valley Shuttle

  • Take a train into the Leavenworth Amtrak Station

  • Fly into Seattle, Wenatchee, or Spokane - From there, catch a shuttle or carpool into the Leavenworth area

 ***Please communicate your transportation preferences & decisions prior to or upon registration so that CAMREC might be able to better support you and other participants logistically***

FOOD: Do you have a meal suggestion? Do you like to cook or bake? Let us know! All retreat participants are encouraged to take a turn helping prepare meals, setting up for meals, and cleaning up after meals. A rotation schedule will be devised. 

 

CHILDREN: Toddlers and infants are welcome and can stay for free! No childcare will be provided but your community will gladly help out!

 

PETS: If being able to bring your pet is important, bring them but please clean up after them and respect any spaces that might be off limits to pets.
